Since the year 2013 Charles-Dickens-Primary-School took part in an initiative run by the Laughing Hearts charitable society.
Children from various children’s homes in Berlin could make a wish and write it on a slip of paper. One hundred of these wishes were hung on a Christmas tree in the school building. Children from our school (along with their parents) then picked one of the wishes, purchased the present and gift wrapped it. Laughing Hearts then presented the gifts to the children during a visit to the cinema. We hope to repeat this initiative every Christmas with a “Christmas Wish Tree.”
I only ask to be free. The butterflies are free.
